Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ: Site Related

Q: When do you usually update Green Eyes?

A: To be honest, it's pretty random. I don't exactly have a schedule for when I create Green Eyes since the pictures and sayings just come to me at random. Sometimes I can be inspired 5 times a week, sometimes I get inspired 5 times a day. So it varies. I guess that means it leaves you with no choice but to keep coming back to find out! wink

Q: Is this alright for my kids to read?

A: Of course! Green Eyes is appropriate for all ages, from fetus to immortal, and everyone is welcome to read the comic. Although, there are so political jokes kids won't get, there's nothing to worry about.

Q: Where do you get the ideas for your characters?

A: The characters are mostly based off of people or things in my life that have meaning to me. Sometimes you may see a character multiple times, sometimes you won't see them that much. It doesn't mean the character isn't important, it might just mean they haven't had that huge of a role in my life compared to others. But even then, they're still very important.

Q: Why is the comic called green eyes?

A: The main character is claled Green Eyes, that, and she has green eyes. Nothing too fancy.

Q: What started "Green Eyes"?

A: Green Eyes first started out as a figure to represent me while I was a secret admirer for a boy in my sophomore year of high school. Soon what started out as just her with cute messages started turning into something bigger. Now Green Eyes has become her own person with her own friends and her own life. What can I say? Just because my secret admiring days are over doesn't mean Green Eyes' life has to end. There never is an end. Only a beginning.

Q: Can I have my character(s) in your comic?

A: Sometimes I like to feature characters that fans have made for the Green Eyes universe, but please do NOT ask me to put you in or your character. If I draw your charact, than cool! If I don't, hey I might some day! Just never ask a comic artist to be in their comic. It's a pretty awkward question for us.

Q: What is Green Eyes about?

A: Green Eyes honestly doesn't have a plot, but is something that is just a take on life. Green Eyes and her friends act out every day situations that we ourselves find ourselves in, but sometimes have trouble coping with, understanding, or just in general need something to relate to. I try to fit every kind of situation into Green Eyes to create a more positive outlook for me and readers, even though sometimes life does feel hopeless. It never is!

Q: When did you first start the comic?

A: Well, naturally the drawings started back in November of 2010, but that was before it was even going to be considered for a comic. It really it it up once February of 2011 came around that I felt the need to give GE friends and a world of her own, not just in my mind.

Q: What mediums are used?

A: Well, mainly the comic is a small, however, in another sense, the comic will usualy be traditionally inked and sketched onto paper. Sometimes, for a night scene, I'll go over the picture in photoshop. Mainly because I'm still getting used to markers after not usuing them for a super long time. The markers I use are just plain ol' sharpies. Nothing super fancy. I have some comic pens but everything I colour and sketch with are bought at your every day Office Depo. Since I'm poor like that.

Q: Are the characters based off of real people?

A: Partialy, yes. Green Eyes is a comic that represents my child and teenhood and so I tend to write in people who've had an influence on me in some way shape or form. Although, all of the characters are their own person with their own traits and life.

Q: How come there isn't any dialogue?

My motto in life is that "actions speak louder than words." And although I have contimplated numerous times if I should add dialogue or not, I realized a lot more could be said via captians and what the characters are doing in the picture. I'm a talkative person face to face, but my closest friends know how I act physically is more important than what I'm saying. And I'm a true believer that a lot more can be said through body language than any language is capable of doing.
